Every Day Is Earth Day

Shining a light on a day like Earth Day is a wonderful idea, but truthfully, every day needs to be earth day. This is where we breathe, live, work, and play. This is where our children and their children will inherit when we have passed on. We need to take care of this place we call home, don’t you agree? Is there one simple thing you can do each day to reduce the impact on the earth? Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse can be a way of life, not just something we talk about once a year.  Dorie Morales, my friend, colleague, and publisher of Green Living AZ Magazine challenges us to do at least one thing to improve the dire situation. Her current message is to stop using straws. Read this article to understand the significant impact straws (and other plastics) are having on our environment.

Quote: “80% of all marine debris found in the ocean is land based, and 80-90% of the marine debris is made from plastic.”

Detox Your Space Using Natural Products

There is a lot of conversation happening around our cleaning products. Frankly, toxic chemicals are what most of us are using to clean our bodies and hair, put on our skin, wipe down our countertops, sprinkle on our carpets, and dump into our toilets and drains (flowing into our water systems). These toxins are wreaking havoc on our health, and our environment; the effects of which we are not fully aware of at this point in time.

My guest blogger, Kelli Gardener of Groom + Style offers alternative cleaning solutions in her informative article and infographic.  Access the full article here. Groom + Style is a company that works to provide honest and accurate articles and reviews on just about everything. Eco Event in Scottsdale

Green Living Magazine has invited me to speak at their upcoming Eco Event at Enterprise Bank in Scottsdale on Wednesday, May 25 at 5 PM. I will share some ideas on decluttering and detoxifying your home. When we live in a space that is contaminated with chemicals, molds, dust, and pollens, we live in a toxic environment. In addition, having clutter around invites rodent infestations as well as ants, earwigs, scorpions, bed bugs, and other creepy crawly things. Eeeew! Register now for this FREE event by clicking here.

One Simple Thing

As my colleague and friend Dr. Mallary Tytel writes, “What is one simple thing you can do to influence the world?”  Click here to read more about Dr. Tytel’s amazing book, One Simple Thing.
