Part 4

Get rid of clutter

Clutter is the physical manifestation of what I call DDD or Delayed Decision Disorder™. Clutter builds up over time.Moving forward, understand that purging and organizing is a process, it takes time, and yet it is a vital part of creating an organized estate.

How to start

  • Get rid of all obvious garbage (empty boxes, shopping bags, broken items that can’t be fixed, things not even good enough to donate).
  • Set up a DONATION box or area, fill it up, load up the car or truck, and then deliver it to your favorite charity! (Or if you have a lot of boxes and/or furniture, arrange for a pick-up from your local charity).
  • Make a dump run if you need to.

[Note: Dispose of your discarded stuff responsibly. You’ll find a complimentary and comprehensive Donation & Disposal Resource Guide on my website.]

It’s often helpful to see where we started and how far we’ve come. Post Before & After photos of your projects, if you’d like to share. If you’re not sure where to start, post your concerns below, or reach out to me privately.
